Google’s voice indistinguishable from human voice
Google’s research paper confirms that according to Tacotron 2, a text-to-speech system, the precision of the imitation of a person speaking from text is near-human.
In contrast to some AI research activities, Google finds this one absolutely useful with immediate effect, thanks also to Wavenet, the system from Alphabet’s AI research, which has become key to generate the voice in Google Assistant.
Next, you can find two set of voice samples. For each one, a real voice and a computer-generated one is presented. Try guessing which one is the computer-generated one without looking at the source code of the page!
“George Washington was the first President of the United States.”
“That girl did a video about Star Wars lipstick.”
